EPISODE DESCRIPTION
This installment of The PAPER STREET Podcast finds Becky and Shawn on a short hiatus due to production, work, and travel schedules, so they've offered up their original test show as a special bonus episode! Initially recorded on Leap Day of 2020, right before a global pandemic would shut down theaters and festivals and delay a number of films, the hosts speculate wildly on the still-new coronavirus, touch on their respective filmmaking backgrounds and genre love, and answer their own version of what would become the 'Rapid Fire 15' that they play with their guests. There's no in-depth film and filmmaking discussion on this one, just your trusty co-hosts working out technical kinks and feeling each other out, because they literally did not know one another before this test run! But you will hear them namedrop things--including Telluride Horror Show, '80s slashers and action movies, bad puns, and Quibi (RIP)--that, now two years later, have been referenced so frequently, they're essentially running gags (or bingo boxes, if you will) of the program. Hope you enjoy this "getting to know you" episode with Shawn and Becky!
